Türkiye’de irtibat bürosu kurmak, yabancı bir şirketin pazar araştırması veya temsil gibi izin verilen ticari olmayan faaliyetleri yürütmek üzere Türkiye’de bulunmasını sağlar. Kuruluş için Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanlığından izin alınması gerekir. Bu yapının uygunluğu, Türkiye’de yürütülmesi planlanan faaliyetlere bağlıdır. Türkiye’deki ofisi aracılığıyla mal satmayı, müşterilere fatura düzenlemeyi veya gelir getirici hizmetler sunmayı planlayan bir şirketin farklı bir yapılanmayı değerlendirmesi gerekir. Bu nedenle ilk adım, Türkiye’deki ekibin fiilen hangi işleri yapacağını belirlemektir. İrtibat bürosu, faaliyetlerini kendisine verilen iznin sınırları içinde yürütmelidir.
