Macfarlanes has advised Crane Venture Partners on raising $484m across four investment vehicles, deepening its relationship with MassMutual Ventures, to build a globally connected inception-to-seed venture platform spanning Europe, North America, India and Asia-Pacific.
The capital includes Crane III ($169m), Crane APAC I ($150m), Crane US I ($100m) and Crane Opportunity Fund I ($65m).

MassMutual Ventures (MMV) is a multistage venture capital firm investing globally in financial technology, enterprise SaaS, health tech, climate technology and cybersecurity companies. MMV has been a minority investor in Crane since 2018 as well as an anchor investor in all Crane funds. In 2025, MMV and Crane announced an agreement for Crane to administer MMV’s Europe and Asia-Pacific (APAC) funds, totalling $450m and including 40 portfolio companies.
