Going to keep the commentary on this to a minimum until we see how it all actually plays out but an INCREDIBLE order was just entered in Chet Wilson v. Freeway ordering Heidrapour to hold onto devices and records and hinting at a deeper dive of his TCPA suit referral practices:

MINUTES of Proceedings: The Court presided over Oral Argument on Defendant’s Motion to Deny Class Certification [19] and Plaintiff’s Motion for Voluntary Dismissal [20]. Defendant’s Motion to Deny Class Certification is GRANTED with written opinion to follow. Plaintiff’s Motion for Dismissal is DENIED. Plaintiff is ordered to retain and preserve all electronic devices and communications regarding all TCPA claims and communications with the Heidarpour Law Firm. Non-party Heidarpour Law Firm is also ordered to retain and preserve all electronic devices and communications regarding this action, all TCPA actions, and communications with Plaintiff. The Court may order Heidarpour and Plaintiff to turn over their devices to a third party. The Court may order Plaintiff to sit for another deposition. The Court informs parties that it will not grant class certification in cases previously joined for purposes of this motion and will not sign off on any proposed settlement regarding class claims brought by Plaintiff Chet Michael Wilson. The Court stays any other pending cases involving Plaintiff until further notice.

This comes on the heels of the revelation repeat TCPA litigator Chet Wilson is apparently a vile racist and anti-semite.

Definitely the biggest story going right now, but I will largely hold my fire until we see what happens here.

Case is:

U.S. District Court

District of Oregon
