The SEC awarded nearly $1 million to a whistleblower for coming
forward with information that led to multiple SEC enforcement
actions. This is the second award issued in less than one
week.
Jane Norberg, Chief of the SEC Office of the Whistleblower,
stated:
"[W]e hope to continue to encourage individuals to submit
high-quality tips that we can leverage to enforce the law and
protect investors. . . ."
To date, the SEC whistleblower program has awarded more
than $136 million to 37 whistleblowers since issuing its
first award in 2012.
