Moore & Van Allen represented GETEC ENERGIE Holding GmbH (GETEC) in its acquisition of a strategic stake in Cloudbreak Energy Partners, LLC, a U.S. solar and energy storage developer. The investment marks GETEC's entry into the U.S. energy market and will support the continued development of solar and energy storage projects across the country.
The transaction brings together GETEC's experience in energy infrastructure and renewable energy with Cloudbreak's U.S. development platform and pipeline of more than 750 MW of solar and energy storage projects.
The Moore & Van Allen team was led by Michael Zeller, with Joe Fernandez and Eddie Schultz providing renewable energy expertise, and included Rob Fisher (Tax), John Zaloom (Labor & Employment), Janet Higley (Employee Benefits), Abbey Peavy and Sally Hentz (Corporate/M&A). The matter reflects the firm's deep experience in cross-border transactions and advising investors, developers, sponsors and energy companies on complex transactions across the renewable energy sector.
