On June 2, 2026, Chime Biologics and Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced a strategic partnership agreement for the development and manufacturing of a dupilumab biosimilar candidate referencing Sanofi and Regeneron’s DUPIXENT.

Chime Biologics is a global CDMO headquartered in China and with major development hubs in Basel, Shanghai, and Wuhan. Daewoong is a South Korean pharmaceutical developer with a broad pipeline spanning preclinical to NDA-stage therapeutics with targets ranging from autoimmune diseases and metabolic disorders to fibrosis and oncology. Through their partnership, the companies aim to leverage Chime Biologics’ AI-enabled development platform and bioprocess supply chain ecosystem to support development of Daewoong’s first global biosimilar product and strengthen Daewoong’s position in the global biosimilars market.

Dupilumab is a monoclonal antibody therapy that treats immunological diseases by blocking interleukin 4 and interleukin 13 receptor signaling-induced type 2 inflammation. DUPIXENT is approved for the treatment of asthma, atopic dermatitis (eczema), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and several other inflammatory diseases. In 2025, DUPIXENT generated approximately $17.8 billion in global sales. The announcement follows similar dupilumab biosimilar developments from Alvotech and Advanz in May 2025 and Formycon AG in November 2025.
