As a follow up to our blog last week that the U.S. House Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee passed appropriations language prohibiting the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from expending funds for prosecutions applying a new joint employer standard, we report that the full House Appropriations Committee passed the legislation by a vote of 30-21 on Wednesday, June 24. The next day, the Senate Appropriations Committee voted 16-14 to pass companion legislation defunding any attempts by the NLRB to enforce a new joint employer standard.
