EPA Releases Draft Risk Evaluations, Draft Hazard Assessments, And Supporting Documents For Four Chemicals
The EPA has released draft risk evaluations for four chemicals under TSCA review—HHCB, phthalic anhydride, o-dichlorobenzene, and p-dichlorobenzene—marking a significant milestone in chemical safety assessment. Notably, the HHCB evaluation preliminarily concludes no unreasonable risk, which would be unprecedented in TSCA Section 6 history. The agency is seeking public comment and peer review through June 2026, with final evaluations due by February 2027 under a court-ordered schedule.
