The UK directory "Who's Who Legal", which specialises in researching leading law firms around the world, named PLMJ "Portuguese Firm of the Year 2015" last night a ceremony in Washington D. C, USA attended by PLMJ partner, Tomás Pessanha. PLMJ had already won this award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. The quality and innovation of PLMJ's work, alongside its strong focus on leadership and internationalisation, merited the recognition of this prestigious directory.
PLMJ partner Tomás Pessanha points out that "being named Portuguese Firm of the Year 2015 by Who's Who confirms PLMJ's place among the most renowned law firms in Europe. The Who's Who Legal directory is the official partner of the ABA and the IBA. With a higher profile in the USA, it is also well-recognised in Europe. The awards are given in more than 53 countries around the world and in 5 states in the USA.
Besides this Who's Who Legal award, PLMJ was also named Iberian Law firm of the Year 2015, by British publication The Lawyer at its annual European Awards. Every year, a jury made up of general counsel from a number of multinational companies chooses the best law firms in Europe and PLMJ was the first law firm to win the award for Iberia in 2012. In April 2014, PLMJ was named Portuguese Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence.
