On 24 July 2012, an order was gazetted which amends the Building (s 67 Exemption) Order gazetted on 15 June 2012.
The 15 June 2012 order enabled applicants who had lodged an application for Class 1 or Class 10 building work between 2 April 2012 and 30 June 2012 to commence that building work prior to the granting of the building permit knowing that if the permit was granted that any work already commenced but otherwise covered by that granted application would be deemed to be authorised work.
The 24 July 2012 gazetted order changes that "period of grace" to applications for Class 1 or Class 10 building work lodged with the permit authority/ local government from between 2 April 2012 and 30 September 2012.
