On June 30 the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse released its Interim Report. The two volume report discusses the Commission's progress to date; the knowledge it has acquired so far; as well as a number of proposals currently under consideration for improving responses to child sexual abuse and dealing with abuse victims.
The report consists of two volumes, the second of which provides testimony from abuse victims interviewed in both closed and public hearing before the Commission.
By the end of 2015, it is anticipated that the Commission will have interviewed 4,000 victims.
The report has recommended that it be extended to at least the end of 2017 requiring a budget increase of approximately $104 million. The report can be found here.
