During a call on March 21, 2017, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that certain electronic devices may no longer be carried onto certain airline flights – they will have to be checked in.

What is not allowed?

  • Any item larger than a cellphone, including laptops, tablets, e-readers, portable DVD players, gaming devices larger than a smartphone and travel-size printers and scanners.

Nonstop flights to US originating from or connecting through the following airports and countries:

  • Queen Alia International Airport / Amman, Jordan
  • Cairo International Airport / Cairo, Egypt
  • Ataturk International Airport / Istanbul, Turkey
  • King Abdulaziz International Airport / Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
  • King Khalid International Airport / Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
  • Kuwait International Airport / Kuwait City, Kuwait
  • Mohammed V Airport / Casablanca, Morocco
  • Hamad International Airport / Doha, Qatar
  • Dubai International Airport / Dubai, UAE
  • Abu Dhabi International Airport / Abu Dhabi, UAE
