The firm’s original four partners were engaged primarily in a burgeoning real estate practice. While our real estate practice and deep-rooted involvement in that industry remains an integral component of the firm, we have grown alongside the dynamic needs of our clients and community at large. Today, the firm’s lawyers advise clients on almost every aspect of business: from copyrights and trademarks to high-stakes, high-profile litigation; from complex commercial and residential real estate issues to wealth management; from labor and employment law to healthcare; from capital raising and entity formation to corporate growth and expansion locally, nationally and internationally.

On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the Lake County Board of County
Commissioners considered a proposal to raise transportation impact
fee rates for all developments located in the central and northern
sections of Lake County by over five times their current rate. The
proposed ordinance can be found here. After some discussion among
the board members and public comment, the Board of County
Commissioners ultimately decided to indefinitely postpone the
proposed increase to transportation impact fees. Therefore, until
further action by the Board, the existing rates for transportation
impact fees will remain unchanged. This also means that the
existing practices that would be abolished as a result of the
ordinance—including pre-prepayment of impact fees—will
remain intact.
